150 Years Polish People In New Zealand

A plaque, unveiled in 2007 is located on a large rock below a Norfolk pine near the kiosk at Auckland Domain. It commemorates the visit of Polish-born Pope John Paul II to Auckland in November 1986.

The cathedral includes a statue of John Paul II and Katyń plaque: On 16 April 1990 the Catholic Bishop of Auckland Denis Browne unveiled a plaque in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Auckland.
